For the spectators: Ongoing fall and spring: UVM Sailing Team Collegiate Regattas and Northern Vermont High School Sailing Team Scholastic Regattas: LCCSC is the home of the above two sailing teams. In 1999, the UVM Sailing Team achieved its highest US ranking: 9th. They have a fleet of 12 FJs and typical of college sailing are exciting to watch. The races take 10-15 minutes if that and are always close. The community-wide Northern Vermont High School Sailing Team was formed in the fall of 1999 and is a bottomless pit of enthusiasm and talent. Kids from any High School, public or private, in Chittenden County make up the team and sail at LCCSC. At the moment the Team is sailing a fleet of 8 420's , however a search for a newer fleet is currently underway. Expect to see great things coming from this group as it grows and improves.

Special Events 2003

Annual Spring Sail and Paddle Swap: June 2 Do not throw your sailing gear, hardware, row boats...away! Someone else may be looking for them. LCCSC will hold its Sail and Paddle Swap in June at LCCSC. The watersporting public is invited to come and offer their wares on consignment. This will raise much needed funds for fleet upgrades for LCCSC and turn some of your old gear into sailing money for you. Any gear that is associated with human or sailpowered boats, sailing books, videos, gear, hardware, tenders, kayaks... is welcome. LCCSC will also be showcasing its own boats for sale - some great deals are sure to be available! For anyone who is looking for a lifejacket for a little one, some blocks for the boat or a tender for your moored boat, this may be the place for you! Stay tuned to this site or call us in the spring for more information.

2003 LCCSC Open House: June 21  This year will be the grand opening of the new Breakwater and expanded dock system at the Sailing Center.  It is also a great way to meet the staff, the Board of Directors, go for a sail in any of our boats, check out the Adaptive boats and eat some incredibly tasty Vermont made food. Our sponsors in the past have included: Lake Champlain Chocolates, Rhino Foods, Lillydale Bakery, Vermont Butter and Cheese, Vermont Pure Spring Water, Coca-Cola Bottling Company, and Green Mountain Coffee Roasters. This event will go on whatever the weather. The Open House is FREE and open to the public.
