Learn to sail
as a family
(no yelling allowed)
Sail with a maximum of 3 people per boat (a family of 4 would
sail in 2 boats). You and your kids will learn in the Hobie 1-14 or Lido 14 dinghies.
Your course will cover all aspects of basic sailing and
safety that is taught in our Adult Dinghy course. Your instructors will
occasionally split the group with the kids going to learn a skill or a concept
with one instructor, while the parents learn with another. This lets us offer an
opportunity for the parents to have a deeper theoretical understanding of some
of the concepts while the kids are learning in a more dominantly kinesthetic
environment. Ultimately you will all come together to
accomplish a reachable goal: learning how to sail, together.
Family Week courses are 12 hours total in 4 x 3 hour sessions.
Minimum enrollment is 4, maximum 6 boats of families. The cost is
$230 for 2
sailors; $50 for a third in the same boat.
