| two-million-candlepower beam can be seen

| | came to Shelburne with the Loyalist

| over 30 nautical miles out at sea. The

| | migration in 1783 first settled the

| town of Yarmouth is an historic seaport

| | village of Birchtown. At the time, this
|
| whose proximity to New England and rich

| | was the largest free Black settlement in
|
| offshore fishing grounds contributed to

| | North America. The village was named in
|
| the town's development and prosperity.The

|
| in 1653 by Acadians, these villages make

| | the attention of the film industry.

| up the oldest Acadian settlement in the

| | Shelburne was settled in 1783 when 3,000

| province. In Middle West Pubnico, a

| | United Empire Loyalists, who had
|
| monument displays millstones used here in
| |
| | maintained allegiance to the British
|
| 1699. Also in West Pubnico, the Abbott's
| |
| | Crown during the American Revolution,
|
| Harbour Lighthouse offers a pleasant
| |
| | arrived by ship from New York City,
|
| place for a picnic. The many islands in
| |
| | creating an instant boomtown in the
|
| the area can be explored by sea
| |
| | wilderness.The Lighthouse Route continues
|
| kayak.Many of the small towns and
| |
| | along the shore, reaching historic
|
| villages along this coastline, like
| |
| | Liverpool, "Port of the Privateers", the
|
| Wedgeport, West Pubnico and Woods
| |
| | privateering capital of North America
|
| Harbour, depend on the sea for their
| |
| | between 1760 and 1812. South of
|
| livelihood. Colourful fleets of
| |
| | Liverpool is the scenic Western Head
|
| longliners, trawlers and scallop draggers
| |
| | Mersey Point Loop which brings you to the
|

| wrecked hundreds of ships before the

| | Medway Lighthouse Park and the Medway
|
